Improper Appointment To The Ncab Again

I think Ingram is originally from the UK....would that count for something?

Also, what's the significance of mentioning that Westoff is a black woman? I missed where you might have mentioned that Gore and Ingram are white men???

The fact that these two are from the same area of the State is the least of my concerns over the appointees.

That's the law...not just a good idea.

Are board members exempt from state law? No. Should board members need to have the HIGHEST level of honesty and ethics? Yes.

Read the damn law. If it will not be adhereed to...then change the law. I think most appraisers would want an honest and ethical board if they are called before them. Appraisers are not allowed to pick and choose what parts of state laws and appraisal board rules.....and board members should be allowed either.

I must have said it somewhere....not sure. Let me know when and what I said. If I did I referred to her as a black woman it was because that was what the elected official wanted. They really were. This killed two birds with one stone. A racial minority AND a woman at the same time. That makes no difference. The point is that Hec tor Ingram liudly opposed her appoinment of a board member who met the statutes. Now he wants to be exempt from the law.

We now have 3 women on the NCAB. One is an appraiser, one a public member and the other a public member formerly a state legislator.

I wonder how many applications they had for the appointment.

You don't apply you contribute...

I don't know....but I got six emails that appraisers said they had applied. I assure you I was not one of them. In my book if you take something that does not belong to you then you are a thief.

I have always said that someone of average intelligence can be taught to be an appraiser. As a USPAP instructor I often have students who are there due to NCAB disciplinary action. NOBODY can teach an adult with years of unethical behavior to become ethical after a 15 hour class.

This is not an important issue to many appraisers. Same old story, you don't care if someone is unethical as long as they are your friend, a member of your organization or able to help you out.

Talk about someone getting their panties in a bunch over nothing...Since the law does not define the exact requirements that must be met in order to insure diversity, it is pretty doubtful that the governor's appointment is illegal just because there are now two board members from one city. When 9 spots on the board are represented by people from 8 different areas, that is a very geographically diverse group on the board. To accuse the guy who accepted the appointment of being unethical for doing so is quite a reach to say the least and is defamatory.
