Virgina REAB and Portal Petition

It wasn't enough that some software companies wanted a copy of the appraiser's digital signature on file for use with a PIN number, now one wants to verify appraiser identities by accessing their credit report!!

No worries, KB. If one of the alphabet companies were promoting this then conspiracy theories about the credit check angle would abound.
But, since it is being done by the ice cream vendor, that will not be the case. They get a pass. Haven't you read the Forum rules?

One side on this thread is stating they have all kinds of evidence, but for legal reasons can not share it. The other side is saying it is all made up rumors.
I guess I am no one's side. The point of my anecdote is that I know unscrupulous people change reports, but have no evidence.

I would be on the "side" that thinks blaming appraisers for someone else's crime needs a long rest and some good meds. That would be like you misstating the Declaration of Indpendence and me blaming Thomas Jefferson for not making tamper proof.

Their are two differences with these vendors. One is a culprit in the dynamic effect of the lending collapse which is jeopardizing the America economy. The other had nothing to do with it........

Ice Cream anyone?

No disagreement there SS, early on when this thread started I was just as flabergasted by that statement as many others were.

I think the problem was before the individual appraiser was given the capability to actually produce a true copy of their AI Ready version (just a week or two ago), they had no way to properly defend themselves as those making changes further along the pipeline could just throw it back on the appraiser. This was a loophole that had to be closed in order for there to be any accountability for the process. Not having the capability to print out a true copy was setting the appraiser up to be the fall guy, and for how long, hasn't AP been in existence almost ten years now?

They can poke fun at the VA board all they want, but IMO their pressure fixed this problem. At first glance it may appear they are doing exactly what your quote states, but was the only way to actually protect the individual appraiser by attacking this system where they had leverage to do so.

When one dares to question the deeper depths of realities, at first it is a fearful experience, and when you dare to stare it, it is then, when it becomes you in your awaking. At that point, it is when you realize how many others are still blind. WB

I notice that Alamode is now promoting the use of true digital signatures in their next release. It would be an excellent upgrade. When that comes out I wonder how many will suddenly be strong supporters of the concept.

I don't think it iwill be sudden at all. I've seen nothing but support for it on this thread.

It is just not seen as the specific solution to the specific questions being discussed.

And "the problem" was what, again?

If there wasn't a "problem", then how comes AI Ready put in a fix, after ten years, right before the Virginia Board is scheduled to meet disgussing the issue. Seems to me this sudden change of events points to there actually having been a problem, if not, why did they change? Their actions are speaking so loudly I can not hear their denials...

Alamode has been working on this for a long time, and many of us have been strongly supportive of their efforts, just waiting patiently for the release. So I wouldn't say it will be "sudden" support - but I imagine it will definitely be strong.

I applaud their efforts and will be glad once the upgrade is released, however, I agree with Marsha. True digital signatures are not the issue in this discussion - AIReady and similar conversion programs are.

A la mode has had this on the shelf for quite some time. It is a part of the Labs stuff, and to be honest I think it's a great idea. It seems Danny is all for this type pf technology. My understanding is they did not feel most appraisers would care for it.

I have not been around as long as many of you, not an age joke, but i am a bit baffled at the length some of you go to make sure the rest of us understand that you have negative opinions of them. What is the deal with it? I have yet to see what they've done to turn some of you into the detractors you seem to be.
