Wild Fires In LA

I flew back to Sac last night when it was dark, and I expected to see some fire, but the view was pitch black with only white smoke plumes. I could also see helicopters flying around with powerful searchlights but nothing else.

My understanding is that Holman caught up to the Fern, and he is being processed tout de suite.
Probably more likely that he is wandering around Disneyland in a mouse suit

the fact that you can not display even an ounce of compassion
Having compassion for the individuals affected is one thing. But don't we really have to consider that no one is an "innocent bystander"? I mean, the citizen voted for the people in place who have, apparently been unwilling to fund enough money to fix the 15% of fire trucks that were out of service, slashed the budget of the FD, drained the emergency water lakes, and spent funds of things that were not even remotely related to fire control. And they did so willingly just as the voters voted them into office willingly. It wasn't like they didn't know the consequences of a major fire. It wasn't like they didn't know this happens time and again and needed constantly addressed.

I view this no differently than letting people build homes on barrier islands then complain about hurricanes. To build multi-story condos on quicksand and sinkholes, etc. These are part of the trucks not fighting fire because they are broken down and there are not enough mechanics to fix them.Screenshot 2025-01-13 113915.png

In 2024, 3,094 voters living in Pacific Palisades voted for Donald Trump.

Really? that's all you got? Blame the helper for the next disaster?
"Roughly 55,000 residents of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Texas will be eligible for shares of $37.5 million paid by more than two dozen manufacturers. They also can get shares of a separate $5.1 million settlement with FEMA contractors that installed and maintained the units."

In LA County, Trump received 1,189,862 votes in 2024.

I cannot understand the Department of Insurance's longstanding policy of not letting insurers cover their risk. That policy left homeowners with no insurance coverage, or the Fair Plan, which is soon to be insolvent. Now that it is too late, the Commissioner has finally relented by issuing his Net Cost of Reinsurance in Ratemaking Regulation, allowing insurers to bake their cost of re-insurance into retail rates. When citizens begin to understand the actual cost of subsidizing their lifestyles, there will hopefully be a change in construction standards and environmental policies, which in turn will help minimize insurance costs.
