I do not blindly follow Biden and have criticized him on the board -

I am not a fan of Biden's pardons, and I have stated many times that I think the Presidential pardon should no longer be allowed.

The feature that sets democracy apart is the freedom to create a sitting president, and those within their own party are the ones in the end who can rein in their worst impulses. The Democrats failed to do what wrt Biden, running for a second term.

The Republicans are following the same path, or worse, with any ethical conservative or any Republican who disagrees with Trump or exposes a lie being threatened, their career ruined, mocked, and or fired, whatever it takes.

No, not right. It's their presented 'perception' of you, that the dems yell about you, not necessarily the truth. It's situational ethics, lying justifies their way how it should be.

Obviously, a fire of this magnitude is going to produce immeasurable quantities of noxious gases, and the debris left behind by thousands of structures burned to the ground contain other toxins like asbestos, lead, mercury and even pesticides. Beyond all that, EV and energy-storage batteries are particularly concerning. Battery fires are incredibly difficult to put out, and their fumes contain numerous poisonous substances.

As per analytics firm StrategicRisk, when lithium-ion batteries burn they release “hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen chloride and hydrogen cyanide, as well as carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and methane, among other dangerous chemicals.” You definitely don’t want to breathe any of that stuff.

The presence of these substances in the air and on the ground is delaying the return of people to their homes and properties, something that is making a terrible situation even worse.

Tom D, yours is a perceptive point about the toxins. I was in Long Beach, 41 miles from Pacific Palisades, while the fires were still burning. The sky was white, grey, yellow, with no blue present whatsoever. Although we could smell the fire slightly, it wasn't long before we were coughing, eyes watering. I live 92 miles from Pacific Palisades, and although skies have been blue, we find a fine powder from the fires on our cars every morning. What's in that? not just ash from a forest fire for sure. It's technology burning, and all sorts of things we would never think would be burning to powder to be breathed in. All the manufactured products from fiberglass to carpet, from TVs to linens, from automobiles to garden gnomes. That's a lot of man-made pollution, and that ain't NATURAL!

Financial, environmental, housing and health devastation. We haven't begun to assess the whole impact.

Weather prediction is that the huge front that will result in snow in New Orleans has a second aspect, namely it will attempt to cross the Rockies and Sierras and the Santa Ana winds will return in only a day or two. This is not good news.
