I use the term respirator to distinguish it, as is done in the medical community, from masks that are not respirators.

While I am not concerned about catching this, we are in NY, and I'm not going to places others at risk in their own personal residences by wearing cloth or ASTM Level 1 surgical masks. I'll stick with the ASTM Level 3 respirators when inspecting others homes, because the science says they are way more protective than what most people are running around with.
I wear this half mask with regularly replaced activated charcoal filters through peoples homes on appraisal appointments. Had it rolling around in my trunk from the REO appraisal days (mold homes, non-trashed out homes, etc.). Then store in a sealed plastic bag to preserve the filters. I believe it is N95 level when worn correctly and protects myself and the occupants.

In lieu of a real life study, a lab based study is all we have. The study acknowledges that. Real life examples can be found in comparing areas with wide spread mask wearing with comparable areas without wide spread mask wearing. You just get a broad overview with that. The fact check did take facebook posts and debunk them with data from CDC. I was wondering where the data came from that said that mask wearing makes the spreading of Covid worse. I can't find anything that agrees with that David Wimpelberg's statement "I've been reading studies on face masks for months. And that's why I don't wear them. The efficacy of the masks is such that there is a good chance that one will catch the virus wearing a face mask for months on end of being exposed to a viral environment." I can find quite the opposite, however. CDC study: Kansas counties with mask order saw COVID-19 drop | The Kansas City Star
You haven't found the opposite. That's because you didn't understand what I stated.

Stating that wearing masks slows the spread obviously happens, but that was not my point, nor does what you referenced disprove what I stated.

To use an analogy, I'm stating that if you drive toward the cliff at 100 mph, and you reduce your speed to 50 mph, you're still going to drive off the cliff, it will just take longer.

You're trying to argue that if you drive at 50 mph, you'll never get to the cliff.

The goal was to slow the spread so that hospitals can handle to the patient load. It was never to stop the spread, because that is an impossibility in a global pandemic.

I had NBC(nuclear, Biological, and Chemical) Training in the Military. This was not a one-time thing, we actually practiced it when we were in the field. Our Mask was not 100% effective. What was most important had to do with Fitment. If it was not adjusted to fit your face, then it simply was not effective enough and you would be a casualty. The Goal of the MOPP Suites and Mask was to reduce Casualties as long as possible until the threat was over. We practiced flying in the MOPP4 Gear. A good day was If you were only Miserable after several hours in MOPP4 while flying. The MOPP4 Gear was not 100% effective.

All the VA employees have had the Covid Vaccine. No one had an adverse reaction.
My nephew's wife works for the VA and she was too sick to work the day following her first injection and she is scheduling a day off after the second, just in case.

Easy to check. Put your glasses on with the cloth mask. If it fogs when you breathe out, then the exhaust is going around the mask. Do you think the intake is any better?

Good to hear that it was not any worse.

We are all different in many ways. Why would we be all the same with this Vaccine?

No reaction to my Flu Vaccination from yesterday, but that has not always been the case for me over the years.

I agree! It's not a closed/sealed System so you're creating positive and negative air pressure out the edges. Simple physics...If you restrict the volume it accelerates and vice versa

The first reference you cite is a controlled study using manikins.
Unbelievable when people cannot understand the difference in a highly controlled CLINICAL experiment and the actual COMMUNITY use of a mask.
Was it polio, or cholera, maybe measles, that required you to stay home?
Semi-killed virus shots are frequently transmissible.
The “Cutter Incident” in 1955 involved a flaw in the Salk polio vaccine manufacturing process at Cutter Laboratories that led to production of substantial amounts of what was thought to be inactivated vaccine that contained live poliovirus. The result has been called “…one of the worst pharmaceutical disasters in US history”[11], with 40,000 cases of polio resulting in 51 cases of permanent paralysis and five deaths among vaccinated individuals, and 113 cases of paralysis and five deaths among contacts of vaccinated individuals [11,12].
Why would we be all the same with this Vaccine?
Sure but not everyone who gets the shot does not have a reaction. Quite a few people have a reaction, far more than with the flu shot. And as the virus morphs, what is the vaccine going to require? Will it be harsher, or hurt like a hammer blow? Will it be as easy as the flu shot. Inquiring minds want to know.

The Pfizer/BioNTech and other vaccines uses nucleic acid called mRNA. This is a new form of vaccine. The old modified semi-live vaccine provides the best protection, the killed virus vaccine is the most common, and this mRNA vaccine is a whole new ball of wax.

The advantage of nucleic acid vaccines is that they can be developed shortly after researchers genetically sequence a pathogen; that could cut the development time from years down to months. The reason we haven’t had these kinds of vaccines before is because scientists struggled to figure out how to get nucleic acid vaccines into our cells where they could be utilized; without its fatty ferry, the genetic material would be destroyed like cellular waste.

Sure! I have not said differently. Some years I get more of a reaction to the flu shot, other years just a sore muscle. It has been almost 23 hrs since my Flu Vac. Just sore in the muscle...who know by tonight I might not be feeling well.

What I heard my Dr. say yesterday about VA staff reactions I take as true. She has never soft-pedaled me on anything over the past 10 years. BUT Maybe she was soft-pedaling this time because the General Public is more nervous over the covid vac.

Oh, well I don't shy away from vaccinations...I know the possible consequence and willing to take the risk. I stand a greater chance of dying without the Covid Vac, than if I get the Vac. It's my choice and I choose to get it ASAP.

Why are you arguing with me or what are you trying to convince me about?
