My wife got her second injection tonight.
I wear this half mask with regularly replaced activated charcoal filters through peoples homes on appraisal appointments. Had it rolling around in my trunk from the REO appraisal days (mold homes, non-trashed out homes, etc.). Then store in a sealed plastic bag to preserve the filters. I believe it is N95 level when worn correctly and protects myself and the occupants.I use the term respirator to distinguish it, as is done in the medical community, from masks that are not respirators.
While I am not concerned about catching this, we are in NY, and I'm not going to places others at risk in their own personal residences by wearing cloth or ASTM Level 1 surgical masks. I'll stick with the ASTM Level 3 respirators when inspecting others homes, because the science says they are way more protective than what most people are running around with.
You haven't found the opposite. That's because you didn't understand what I stated. In lieu of a real life study, a lab based study is all we have. The study acknowledges that. Real life examples can be found in comparing areas with wide spread mask wearing with comparable areas without wide spread mask wearing. You just get a broad overview with that. The fact check did take facebook posts and debunk them with data from CDC. I was wondering where the data came from that said that mask wearing makes the spreading of Covid worse. I can't find anything that agrees with that David Wimpelberg's statement "I've been reading studies on face masks for months. And that's why I don't wear them. The efficacy of the masks is such that there is a good chance that one will catch the virus wearing a face mask for months on end of being exposed to a viral environment." I can find quite the opposite, however. CDC study: Kansas counties with mask order saw COVID-19 drop | The Kansas City Star
My nephew's wife works for the VA and she was too sick to work the day following her first injection and she is scheduling a day off after the second, just in case. All the VA employees have had the Covid Vaccine. No one had an adverse reaction.
Easy to check. Put your glasses on with the cloth mask. If it fogs when you breathe out, then the exhaust is going around the mask. Do you think the intake is any better? Our Mask was not 100% effective.
Good to hear that it was not any worse. My nephew's wife works for the VA and she was too sick to work the day following her first injection and she is scheduling a day off after the second, just in case.
I agree! It's not a closed/sealed System so you're creating positive and negative air pressure out the edges. Simple physics...If you restrict the volume it accelerates and vice versaEasy to check. Put your glasses on with the cloth mask. If it fogs when you breathe out, then the exhaust is going around the mask. Do you think the intake is any better?
Unbelievable when people cannot understand the difference in a highly controlled CLINICAL experiment and the actual COMMUNITY use of a mask. The first reference you cite is a controlled study using manikins.
Semi-killed virus shots are frequently transmissible. Was it polio, or cholera, maybe measles, that required you to stay home?
Sure but not everyone who gets the shot does not have a reaction. Quite a few people have a reaction, far more than with the flu shot. And as the virus morphs, what is the vaccine going to require? Will it be harsher, or hurt like a hammer blow? Will it be as easy as the flu shot. Inquiring minds want to know. Why would we be all the same with this Vaccine?
