It is inappropriate for a "higher-up" to try to act as a puppet-master over the members of the Board. There is more--the unavoidable and foreseeable result of the effort--but such is the effect and not the cause. I have great hope, given the high character and professionalism of the members of the Board, that this situation will eventually find its proper conclusion with the Board asserting itself.
The motive is what concerns me. I don’t care if it’s a higher up if it benefits the profession as a whole. In other words, if it’s the governor and he has the same goals (motives) as appraisers like public trust, I’m all for it.
