Walked away mid-inspection/vent

Besides, I've never seen a baby that cared about being put down for a nap 10 minutes after the carved-in-stone nap time.

nor one late for work, ect. if they're delayed a few minutes for naptime.

Sorry, I think you over reacted...all they wanted was the interior first due to baby...your call though.

well you were not there J. the mocking, then picking a fight over my protocol and potential problems is why I walked. A good point was to photograph the baby's room then back outside.

as a side note, they could have elected for a noon appointment rather than 1:00pm if needed. I was wide open at the time the appointment was scheduled and they declined my suggested 5pm.

Sorry, I have to take the homeowners side on this one, all they ask you to do is the interior inspection first so they could put their baby down. Never forget it is their home, and we are guest. Seems to me they showed you the same amount of respect that you showed them, what goes around comes around.

I'm with the OP on this one.

If I go to a doctor or take my car to my mechanic to fix a problem, I don't tell either one how to go about their job.

I have my routine--similar to the OP's--when I inspect a property and I do my job best when I stay consistent.

....
I have had people tell me that they were just soooooooooo busy.
They could not possibly let me inspect the property until the end of the month.
Oh, by the way, they were closing at the first of the next month!
My simple comment was...NO YOU ARE NOT unless I inspect the home within the next several days!
I am not in any hurry, you folks take your time!:)
You just reminded me of times when homeowners would say:

"Oh, I can't get you in during the day, I WORK FOR A LIVING."
--Is that so lady? ...and just what do you think I'm doing ?

"Can't you just have a look at the property from the outside?"
Well sure, but the Bank wants the report based on my seeing the INSIDE.

"Can't you come out and see the property on Saturday?"
Well sure, it's the most popular day for inspections, we're pretty backed up for Saturdays.
Now let me see, I could come out on Saturday the 14th, that's July 14th.
When did you say you were going to settlement?

...and the next thing you know we'd found a mutually agreeable time during
the middle of the following week, and they had the rest of that afternoon off!
while I had to work

Right on. I've never understood the whole baby nap thing but have had to schedule many appointments around them. Attached what I consider my gem. Keeps me thorough and consistent.
I like that...... I just use the 10 graph but will consider you're creativity. I will do the inside first on an absolute necessity, but never on a complex property. 25 years experience and it seems that every time I do the inside first I need to get back in to re verify something. m2:

Like I said, your call. Maybe the people were more obnoxous in person!

I remember doing some FHA appraisals several years ago. The homeowner told me without a doubt that he was not going to do any repairs! I simply said OK. He then asked if that was going to create a problem? I said NO, FHA would not insure the loan and the lender would not make the loan and he no longer would have a sale. But, it was no problem!:icon_mrgreen:

They played the baby card. But babies are like honey badgers.

cheers  i've found it to be a lot less expensive too to print it off from a ream of legal rather than ordering the graph paper. PM me an email and I can shoot you off the .xls file if you want to make changes.
