A buddy of mine just lost his house and everything in it during the Ventura County fires in November. They had to evacuate so quickly it was all they could do to grab the car keys and go. It was so sad to see a picture of what's now a vacant lot with nothing left but a chimney and foundation. It’s awful from his description with the winds out of control. My big question is there seems to be a lack of firebreaks, but then again, when the winds are at the speed they are, the flames and sparks must jump the firebreaks like they aren't even there. Dry air, dry vegetation, wind and fire is a bad combination.

Expert on the news says it will take 3 to 5 years to rebuilt with all the permit red tape.

Many had NO fire insurance.

I read the Santa Anna winds reached 80 MPH yesterday

Am sure the winds and lack of rain had more to do with the fires than DEI.

Very sad, fires are so terrifying. The amazing part is that so few people lose their lives.

I don;t care if you say I have no sense of humor. Idk what is funny about mocking people's suffering especially in real time as it is happening. Some of the people losing their lives and their nights might be Republicans, btw since that is all that seems to matter. What is ghoulish about pointing out that the elected officials were off in the ozone and not doing their job and the Mayor was so dumb she told people to go online and log into URL... WHAT URL FOR GOD'S SAKE. Of course, JG didn't listen to the post videos in any case. Jut ASSumed due to WHO posted it, not WHAT was posted.

LA previously cut their fire dept budget last year to give that money to give immigration a helping hand.
You deserve your self inflicted problems, it's what you voted for.

And i live next to zombie land. That is a self inflicted problem that doesn't go away. I don't see no threads on poor me, zombie land.

The reason you quoted above is just a Fox talking point. There were a variety of reasons the budget was cut. In hindsight it was a really poor decision.

I don't recall her concern when all the pipeliners lost their jobs. Quite the opposite, she was happy that her political agenda was furthered at the expense of others. Of course, for some, criticizing government officials who don't do the job they were hired for just means more government is needed.

I heard that most of the LA and CAL firefighters were at a mandatory two-week DEI indoctrination in San Franscisco when the fires broke out. The wanted to return to LA but bums and illegals had moved into their cars. The firefighters were arrested when they tried to physically remove the squatters. They are being held without bail while the murderers and rapists are released back to the public on their own recognizance.

In the meantime, LA fire dept. is drafting men into the dept. They give the applicants a quart of beer and make them wait for an hour. After that, if they can pee higher than a line drawn 3' off the ground, they're given a fire suit and a 48 hour DEI training course and sent out to the front lines.

Where do you get your information? Dou ou just make $hit up?

Based on recent fires here, and the rebuilding efforts. it will be more like 10 years.
